Larry Thomason was born and raised in Lawton, OK. He graduated from Harding University in Searcy, AR where he met his wife, Martha Perry Thomason. Larry and Martha have been married for 42 years and have four sons, four daughters in law, and 12 grandchildren. Larry has also done graduate work in Religious Studies and in Counseling. Larry began preaching for a small congregation while at Harding and both Larry and Martha worked with the Northeast Campaign Team, taking the gospel to the Northeast United States. They went to Zambia, Africa after leaving Harding to work with Martha’s parents at Namwianga Christian Secondary School for a year, teaching in the school and preaching in the villages. Larry has preached in Columbia, LA, Waco, TX, Hamilton, Ontario, Apache, OK, St. Charles, MO, and Tuttle, OK.

Gary and his wife Sue have been married for over 51 years (September 1966). They have 3 sons and 3 daughter-in-laws. God has blessed them with 2 wonderful grandsons.

Church Support:

Gary and Sue have been members of the Nicoma Park family for over 45 years. Gary has served many functions for the congregation over the years and has been an elder for the last 5 years. He has taught both teen and adult Bible classes; adult men’s public speaking classes; teenage and adult “how-to-pray” classes; conducts funerals; supports worship services (preaching, leading prayer, and waiting on the Lord’s Table), and regularly helps with the congregation’s Food Pantry Program.

Sue is also active with the Food Pantry Program. She is active in the congregation’s seasonal Widow and Widowers Appreciation Basket program, seasonal building decorations with silk arrangements, nursing home visitation, and support for youth events.

Professional Career:

Gary holds a degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Arkansas and a Master of Business Administration from Central State University in Edmond. Gary worked as a civil servant for 38 years with the Air Force. He served in Mobile, Alabama; Biloxi, Mississippi; and Tinker AFB Oklahoma. He has worked as an electronic engineer, a Quality Assurance Engineer, a Physical Science Administrator (managing the Physical Science Labs at TAFB), a Production Engineering and Planning Supervisor, and a Technology Chief (working with state universities, the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL), and national laboratories). Currently Gary works part time as the Chief Engineer of Cognition LLC (a minority, disabled veteran owned small business).

Sue was a stay-at-home mom until their youngest child reached his teens. She then earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Education from Central State University. She owned and operated a florist business in Del City for over 13 years and was a certified professional florist. She sold the business to care for her ill mother before she went to be with the Lord.
